Racing opportunities for Maldon Sharks swimmers aged 9 and above

The Maldon Sharks regularly compete in open and invitational galas, the Essex Mini League (EML), Essex County Swim Championships and Swim England East Region Championships. Swimmers can compete from the age of 9 and will be supported by our experienced coaching team.

Essex Mini League (EML)

The Sharks participate in the Essex Mini League which is a league of 17 clubs including Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Clacton, Canvey Island, Colchester, Chelmsford, Harlow Penguins, Harwich, Hornchurch, Maldon, Rochford, Romford, Saffron Walden, Witham and South Woodham.

Each club participates in five galas throughout the season with the average number of points scored determining league places.

This is an ideal start for swimmers as it gives them a chance to experience competitive swimming in a pressure-free environment and have fun supporting the team.

Open Meets & Invitational Galas

Swimmers also compete in open and invitational events during the year. These galas provide further opportunities to race against swimmers from other clubs, achieve qualifying times and gain valuable competition experience.
